The review period is being extended for the next three learning areas, which are currently being developed as part of the New Zealand Curriculum Refresh, to provide schools and kura with ample time. Exceptional feedback received during the initial review round is being carefully considered to make updates to the drafts for the learning areas in science, technology, and the arts.

Individuals are encouraged to take part in this process and express their opinions. The extended review and feedback period will run from the end of October 2023 until March 2024. Following this, the finalized learning areas will be made available in August 2024.
