Ringa Hora Services Workforce Development Council is spearheading a transformative initiative to revamp New Zealand’s education system by replacing unit standards with skill standards in the NZQA Directory of Assessment and Skill Standards.
Throughout December 2023, the Council is seeking input from diverse school stakeholders to ensure the translation of existing unit standards into relevant and impactful skill standards. This move aligns with the RoVE legislation and government efforts to streamline qualifications. The process, conducted via email consultation, invites participation to collectively shape the future of education standards in New Zealand. Existing standards won’t be immediately replaced, and experimental drafts aim to create engaging learning scenarios for students.
Ringa Hora emphasizes its role in setting industry-relevant skill standards, leaving the creation of training resources to other agencies.
