Conference
Every two years, TENZ runs a national conference to bring together educators from across Aotearoa. This is a significant event that educators and researchers across the country prioritise. Attendees include early childhood education, primary, intermediate and secondary teachers, through to university researchers. This brings leaders across schooling together in one place to share their knowledge and raise awareness of the latest opportunities in the field of technology education.
Our Status as a NEX (Network of Expertise)
As a NEX member, TENZ is recognized for its expertise and experience in the field of technology education by the Ministry of Education. Through our extensive application and stringent criteria, TENZ was included in a limited number of teacher lead organisations. As a sponsor you can be confident in your support of a NEX organisation. TENZ is able to deliver high-quality programs and initiatives that support the professional growth of technology educators, and enhance the quality of technology education in New Zealand.
TENZ's leadership in technology education is also demonstrated through its collaborations with other NEX members and key stakeholders in the education sector. By working closely with these partners, TENZ is able to stay up-to-date with the latest developments and trends in technology education and to share its own expertise and knowledge to benefit the wider community.
Technology Education New Zealand (TENZ) is a non-profit professional, collaborative association, promoting and supporting all levels of technology education in Aotearoa New Zealand.
TENZ is organised by teachers for teachers and our aim is to enhance the learning and teaching of technology by creating a well informed, well connected, supportive and sustainable professional community that has a strong voice and provides effective advocacy for technology education.
Our aims are to:
- foster the development of technology education in Aotearoa New Zealand
- develop and maintain national and international links between those working in technology education and with the wider technological community
- support professional, curriculum, and resource development in technology education
- encourage and support research in technology education
- organise a national, biennial technology education conference
- work closely with other subject associations for mutual benefit of technology education.
