The impact of AI on assessment is perhaps the most contentious issue regarding AI in education today. Many educators worry that students using AI tools to complete assessment tasks will make those assessments no longer authentic. One response is to say we can only use secure, invigilated assessments where students cannot use AI. Another is to rethink what we mean by assessments, and embrace AI. Are these our only options?
This session will examine the challenges and opportunities of AI in authentic assessment and the role of AI literacy.
