NCEA Level 1 materials, now include Internal Assessment Activities (IAAs), Learning Matrices, and Course Outlines for New Zealand Curriculum subjects. Each internal standard offers three sample assessment activities, providing context and encouraging teacher creativity. While students need only demonstrate learning through one activity to meet standards, using all three is optional. Teachers are free to develop local assessment activities using these samples, tailoring them to the preferences of their school, kura, and learners.
